French II Syllabus
Course Description
PREREQUISITE: French I
This course continues students’ progress through the novice levels in French.
Students develop the ability to make requests, obtain and provide information, understand more complex details, and identify the main idea and literary elements of written text. Students learn to understand ideas and familiar details presented in clear, uncomplicated speech when listening, and short texts enhanced by visual clues when reading.
Required Materials
1 1 ½ or 2 inch 3-ring binder with clear cover pocket (“view” or “presentation” binder)
5 dividers
1 blue or black ink pen
Other materials may be required for projects. Students will be notified at the time of the assignment.
Suggested Course Materials
1 French-English dictionary
1 blank CD (if the student has access to a computer)
Students may check out at textbook and are responsible for checked-out texts. Those with access to a computer may get an electronic copy of the book if they provide a blank disc. Discs are available in the library. The text is also available online.
Each student will be provided with a workbook that must be kept in their binder all year. Students are responsible for workbooks and will not be issued another.
Student Conduct & Discipline
All students are expected to follow the Dallas ISD code of conduct.

Absolutely no electronic devices will be allowed in class (cell phones, iPods etc.)
Academic Integrity
Cheating and plagiarism will not be tolerated and will result in a failing grade for that assignment and possible disciplinary action.
